Playing Action Video Games May Improve Reading in Children with Dyslexia
According to a report from The New York Times, playing action video games may improve reading in children with dyslexia.
A study was done and it was reported that children who played action games scored significantly higher than those who played non-action games by various measures: combined speed and accuracy, recognising pseudo-words made of random letters, and reaction time. The action game players also scored higher on tests that measured attention by inserting distractions as the children tried to accomplish various visual and auditory tasks.
Now who would have thought that playing action video games would actually be beneficial?
