Vocational Schools in China Providing Practical Skills for Students
In China, private enterprises like BN Vocational School are becoming an attractive route for rural students who want to attain a skill suitable for the marketplace. Such schools offer the children of China's 200 million migrant labourers better job prospects in the future.
Skilled vocational school graduates are in high demand, with employment rates above 95 per cent between 2007 and 2011, according to the Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education. Emphasis is also placed on young people gaining practical skills because there is a need for China to be more productive with a smaller workforce, after the country's labour force peaks at 751 million in 2015, and decline thereafter.
